Steven Radford-Basher is an Advisor with the New Zealand Transport Agency, in Auckland, New Zealand. Steven shares his story about gaining PuMP Certification with us.
Why Steven chose PuMP
I have been with the New Zealand Transport Agency for about 10 months, and during that time have been heavily involved in the establishment of performance measures and associated reporting. We had been using aspects of PuMP during this process, specifically steps 2 and 3, and while this felt like the right approach, we were encountering a few roadblocks along the way.
I was keen to attend PuMP training to understand the end-to-end process better, to get some tips to removing some of the roadblocks we were encountering, and to connect with other performance and measurement professionals across Australia and New Zealand.
Steven’s experience with attaining PuMP Certification
The course itself was engaging, got into the steps in depth (without getting bogged down) and delivered the tips I was hoping around the vital steps 2 and 3. Mark was clearly very knowledgeable and had an easy manner.
What it means to Steven to have PuMP Certification
Following the training I am feeling much more confident around steps 2 and 3 and how they can work more effectively in our context. I’m looking forward to taking the learnings and embedding them straight away and have already briefed my lead team on some of our opportunities.
